FIFA World Cup 2006 cover athletes
Soccer, er, I mean football fans will get a
unique game cover featuring their national soccer heroes for FIFA World Cup 2006. The soccer sim will be released for
all major platforms on April 28, just in time for real deal. Here's the breakdown in case you're way too interested in
soccer game cover art:China - Zhi Zhen
England - Frank Lampard
Germany - Lukas Podolski
Italy - Alessandro Del Piero
Mexico - Jamie Lozano
Portugal - Simao
Netherlands - Arjen Robben
Switzerland - Ricardo Cabanas
Spain - Xavi
USA - Claudio Reyna
If your country isn't featured on the above list, you just get a cover with a trophy on it. Here's hoping this game will deliver, despite its being the fifth EA soccer game released over the past six months.

Note that "England" actually means "United Kingdom" in this case. (No pun intended!)

Nice one, EA Europe: Even Lippi's sick of Del Piero, never mind the rest of Italy. Hopefully there's a sticker patch soon.

Personally, I'd rather have the trophy on the cover than all of those marginals they chose for the cover.
This is the World Cup, The biggest stage of them all, where the heck is Ballack? Beckham? Rafa Marquez? C.Ronaldo? Van Nistelrooy? Raul? You know, the "All-Stars" of their country.

Playing. And as a Mexican, I'm proud you mentioned Rafa Marquez.

Arjen Robben is NOT a marginal!!! He's better than Van Nistelrooy or Ballack or Rafa Marquez or Beckham (yuck!) or Raul or Ronaldinho.
