Crash & Spyro headline Vivendi E3 lineup

Vivendi revealed
that new Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon games will be appearing in the publisher's E3 lineup,
joined by some popular entertainment licenses. TimeShift, which was just acquired from Atari, will also be on
hand. Here's the complete list of titles that will be featured at Vivendi's booth:- 50 Cent: Bulletproof (PSP)
- Caesar IV (PC)
- Crash Boom Bang! (DS)
- Eragon (DS, GBA, PC, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360)
- Freestyle Street Basketball (PC)
- Joint Task Force (PC)
- The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (DS, GBA, GameCube, PS2, Xbox)
- Miami Vice (PSP)
- Scarface: The World Is Yours (PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360)
- TimeShift (PC, Xbox 360)
- World in Conflict (PC)

I think the last time that I cared about any game starring Spyro or Crash I was still in fourth grade. They used to be respectable franchises on the PS1, but an inundation of lackluster installments has diluted the value of both brands to zilch. In order for any gamers to give the new titles anything more than a passing glance, Vivendi is going to have to make a turnaround of Tomb Raider-esque proportions.

#2: Part of that is because the original Crash and Spyro developers, Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games, are both owned by Sony these days.
However, Vivendi still owns the rights to Spyro and Crash.
In other words, look to the Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank franchises for your fix.

I find it funny they're still rolling out 50 Cent: Bulletproof for the PSP. If it didn't work with two analog sticks, I'd like to see it played with a single nub.

Sadly, the Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank franchises won't be making it on the PS3 as both Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games have said that they both want to move on and make new things.
Nintendo they are not, which is kinda sad, but understandable since they don't have the resources like Nitnendo to do so much,

And isn't it funny that he Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is pretty much on the Last Generation systems vs, the Next Generation where it'd truly be a new beginning.

Umm...you don't think Sony is not funding them? I think they fund them quite well consider all their video games have been marketed in every medium periodically and their titles are sold well in North America and Europe.
In addition, Insomnaic is just a second party developer but they have a close relationship with Naughty Dog. While, Naughty Dog was bought by Sony in 2001 before the release of the first Jak and Daxter.

WHY? Why is that horrible "game" that is Bulletproof being ported to the PSP? Did they not see how that game made no money, and how there were stores that hadn't sold a single copy weeks and weeks after it was already out?

#8: Well at the very least they're trying to improve the gameplay instead of releasing just a quick and dirty port. This one takes place from a top-down Baldur's Gate-esque perspective. Whether or not that could save a poor game design is another story, but at least they've acknowledged that Bulletproof was a broken game.

Why people would care for it I dont know but me not being a fan of 50 or anything but I had read about the PSP version a little while ago acutally way before the console one was released.
But yes its like what #9 said
What I read it reminded me of X-men Legends (1 or 2)
it had a cool idea, but for a game starring 50 cent it really surprized lol ah well
Ah yes the rest of this game line up is pretty piss poor, hopefully they have more that they arnt talkin about till E3...maybe

After four entries each, I think it's reasonable for the respective developers of the Jak and Ratchet & Clank series to want something else to do with their careers. Four good to very good games in a row is a fine track record.
It isn't all that much better in Nintendo's history. Their developers have made frequent use of the same characters but not so often in the same genre as to threaten their sanity. Although many of us would have been willing to see them take that risk. How many of us would have happily jumped on a real SNES followup to Super Mario World, or an N64 sequel to Mario 64? There have been a hell of a lot of Mario games but not all that many of the classic platformers for the time elapsed.
Look at it from a developer's perspective. A single title can be your job,day in and day out, for year. (And that doesn't count those multiyear epic projects that consume souls.) Then multiply that by four. No matter how great your success, doing something else for a while could be the only thing that saves you from burnout and leaving the industry entirely.
I really liked the early Spyro games but they lost the creative strength of the series even before the originators moved on. I'd rather have seen better effort put into fewer Spyro games or the franchise left entirely dormant until a solid team could be brought in to match its glory days.

I'm so very glad that developers like Naughty Dog move onto new ideas. I mean I'm sure there would have been some outcry when they announced they wern't working on a new Crash game but a new unnamed title (Jak and Daxter), but I'm sure everyone will agree that the Jak and Daxter games were far superior to Crash.

That must be a mistake. Eragon. Now I've seen plenty of games that favor xbox/ps2 and don't release on Gamecube. Eragon is even coming to the nintendo handhelds, but not the home console?! What's up with that.
Well, not like I really care anyway. I'm not getting the game. That just seems peculiar
