NBA Street heads to PS3, Xbox 360
Just days after pulling the plug on the NBA Street V3 servers, EA has announced that the streetball-inspired franchise will be crossing over onto next-gen platforms in spring 2007. The next edition of NBA Street has been confirmed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 -- but not Wii.The game will still focus on over-the-top, 3-on-3 b-ball, but now includes a new twist, described by EA as, "a hyper-real world that merges legendary courts with the hometown courts of your favorite NBA stars into one seamless city of streetball moments. Earn a name for yourself and garner respect as you progress along your hometown journey and become a legend."
Peep the teaser trailer after the break.

This just makes me want to play 4-player NBA Jam TE over XBLA.

I think that NBA Street "NEXT" will be fun like its predecessors. You can never flat out predict something and be guaranteed to be 100% correct, but it's pretty likely that this title will be good, given 1-3's track record. As for Xbox 360 and PS3 getting mention and not Nintendo Wii? Don't forget about the EA and Nintendo conference at Leizpig in a couple weeks, after Nintendo's own "Wii Prove Our Promise" conference. Maybe then we'll learn of some new EA Wii titles.

"Hyper-real"? What are we, back in the early 90's?

Oh Snap... NBA Jam TE over XBLA... Too dreamy but won't ever happen probably due to licensing issues. Most of the guys in that version don't even play in the NBA anymore.

I had vol 2 on my Gamecube, and it got more playtime than any other game. This is news I've been waiting for. Can't wait to get it for 360.

I'm not too sure about this but I guessing EA hosts their online games on their own servers. Does this mean we could possibly play this game cross platform with PS3 users?
